School & Corporate Outings

FLCC is pleased to offer a variety of outings & field trips to schools and corporations in Bedford Channel and the Fraser River.

With the aims of expanding interest in paddling sports, enjoying the beauty of the natural resources, and providing team-building opportunities, FLCC makes available its equipment, supervision and experienced leaders to create a FUN outing.

Group & Corporate Outings

Dragon Boat Trip
Take a group dragon boating.  24 paddlers including and a whole lot of fun on the water. Dragon boating is definitely a team sport; it teaches people how to work together (as well as benefitting from exercise and fresh air).

$400 + $20 gst = $420 includes: one hour on the water (up to 24 paddlers), equipment, dry-land safety and on-water coaching.

School Outings

Voyageur Canoe Field Trip
Geared to all elementary school classes. Also a great addition to the grade 5 social studies curriculum; come to Fort Langley and paddle a voyageur canoe just like the fur traders.  The Fort Langley Canoe Club provides all equipment and training.

$150 + $7.50 gst = $157.50 includes: one hour on the water (up to nine paddlers), equipment, dry-land safety and on-water instruction.  Multiple canoes can go out at one time. Each canoe requires one adult supervisor.

Dragon Boat BC Classroom Field Trip

Grades 6-8  Up to 20 students, with 4 adult paddlers, 2 of which must be experienced paddlers.
Grades 9-12  Up to 22 paddlers, with 2 adult paddlers
Up to 10 additional students (requiring a second boat) $200 +$10 gst

Middle School Paddling Field Trip
A good field trip for alternate site PE

This paddling field trip includes:  Instruction in paddle grip, stroke parts and different strokes, forward, backward, sweep, reverse sweep, feathering, and safety on the water

Two on-water practices in a variety of watercraft (dragon boats, voyageurs, and if ability allows, kayaks and tandem canoes) Classes may be shortened to accommodate school schedules

$25+GST = $26.25/participant includes equipment, instruction/coaching.

Minimum participants required – can tailor program to meet demand.  For every 18 students, schools need to provide two adult participants.

Basic Itinerary:
9:30am – students arrive; instruction, practice
Approx 11:45am – 40 minute lunch break on-site
1:40pm – students change and return to bus

Schools to arrange lunches and bus transportation.
