Slalom Racing comes to FLCC
Opening at 1pm on Sunday March 28 is the new Slalom course on the Salmon River. The event kicks off with a training clinic and is followed by the first races at 3pm.
This event will be run by the Centre for Excellence White Water Club from Chilliwack on the new course prepared for the BC Summer Games. The new course is about 100m long and features 10 gates, which have to be negotiated as quickly as possible – without hitting them! It is located just North of the 96th Ave bridge.
The clinic will give athletes a chance to familiarize themselves with the boat properties and paddle strokes that help with manoeuvring the gates – and get training from some top white water athletes from Chilliwack, many of whom have competed successfully in National and International events.
This clinic is not limited to potential Summer Games athletes and every member is invited to try the slalom boat and develop new paddling skills.
Registration is $10 Email Grant
