Youth Kayaking Classes & Camps

FLCC is pleased to offer a wide selection of kayaking courses for youth and children. We provide all equipment including PFDs and all of our classes are led by qualified instructors on the Bedford Channel.
There are two types of classes, on the line to the right of each class you will see a link to register for that class.  If a class is noted as offered by FLCC, the link will be an email to the course coordinator.  If the class is noted as offered with the Township of Langley (TOL), the link will take you to the online express registration page or if the link does not work for you please call the Walnut Grove Community Centre at 604-882-0408 to register.
Please have your child/youth bring a signed waiver and health form with them to the first class.
Check back often as more classes will be added.

Regatta Ready
11 -15 years
The Regatta Ready program provides an introduction to the sport of canoe and kayak. FLCC wants to promote this fun sport, which develops strength, endurance and balance in a natural outdoor environment. We provide all of the equipment needed including racing boats when they are ready. This program encourages water safety, skill development, care and maintenance of the equipment, a team atmosphere and an all around good time. Once the athlete feels he is ready there are many opportunities to race in the lower mainland.

                   What to wear

We run our classes on the Bedford Channel.

We recommend:

Comfortable shorts that do not absorb a lot of water.

Water shoes or sandals.

A hat and sunscreen is always a good idea.

A dry change of clothes or a sweat shirt is nice for your ride home.

Day camp participants should always bring a complete change of clothes - as well as a drink & snack or two.
