Women on Water was the first Dragon Boat team to originate in FLCC.

WOW was started by a group of keen voyageur paddlers and even though we had never set foot in a Dragon Boat yet alone owned one, we decided in 2003 to enter our first Dragon Boat race. We were hooked!

The enthusiasm and spirit that resulted from that race inspired twenty plus women to form a team of our own. We fund raised furiously and led the movement within the club to raise the money to buy the very first Dragon Boat in FLCC. We are proud to have sustained through the years and we are now in our 9th season.

Dragonboating is all about team work and passion and we have been lucky to have had so many talented and fabulous people be a part of our team. Throughout the years over 100 incredible women have called themselves WOW members and we've been lucky enough to have been coached by Bob Brinson, Ben Lee and, presently by the FLCC Commodore - Cheryl MacIntosh.

Our 2011 season focus is on fun, fellowship and team-building. We practice Tuesdays 6:15-8:00 and Thursdays 5:15-6:45, April through September. If you've ever wanted to join a Women’s Team and are curious about dragonboating we'd love to hear from you. Please Email Susan .
