Fast & Furious earns a Silver Medal at the 2011 Nationals in Welland.
This success in Ontario earns the team a berth at the 2012 World Club Crew Dragonboat Championships in Hong Kong next August.
The team has already started to prepare for their vigorous training for the year to come. It seems only a short time since the first FLCC team entered a race (2003) but now we are going to be on the World stage.
And this is how close they were to beating the former Champions....

March 2011 - Fast & Furious is one of Fort Langley’s newest women’s teams.
Most of our members are already paddlers on other FLCC dragon boat teams but came together to practice as a team in order to compete in the Nationals in the "Women’s Senior B (Grand Dragon) Division" in Welland, Ontario July, 2011.

Our hopes are to do well enough in Ontario to qualify us for the World Club Competition next year in Hong Kong. We hope that the combined years of experience that we bring to the table along with our common goal, will take our Club into the International Competition level. We are coached by Ben Lee; who has coached many of us on other teams within and without the club as well.
Our team has been very fortunate this year to have Fireball as our first sponsor; helping us out with our banner and uniforms; sending us on our way to Nationals in style. We hope we can do them proud and live up to their slogan to “Ignite the Nite” and be “Red Hot”. We are a spirited group of women that love to paddle hard and play even harder. One thing for sure…we know the girls will definitely enjoy their product.
Fast & Furious were ecstatic with their bronze medal win at their very first Regatta together as a team at the Dash held in Deep Cove on April 16th. We placed third in the Championship "A" Womens Division.
